W 4th Street - 6pm - 2 Hours

Many people don't think about nighttime being a good time to do photography since there's a lack of light. However, armed with knowledge about your camera's settings and the properties of light, nighttime photography can be a lot of fun.

In this meetup, you'll learn about the best camera settings for nighttime photography. We'll also explore the kinds of light available to us and how to use that light to make some awesome photos. As always, there are exercises that will help you put your new knowledge to work.

Excellent event. Isaac is a great guide and I really enjoyed learning new perspectives and techniques from him. Two hours is the right length of time for this type of event.

Photographing Patagonia was a long held dream for my husband and I. We traveled there this past April. It was a long journey to get there from Reno - a 20 hours by plane to Buenos Aires and then another 3 1/2 hour flight from Buenos Aires to El Chalten in Argentina. The days are short at this time of year in Patagonia as winter is approaching in the southern hemisphere. The weather is cooler and the winds can be ferocious. Sunrise is around 9 am and sunset is around 6:30 pm so there were no sup

This Tigress took a long swim to cool off from the soaring afternoon heat exceeding 100 degrees. We waited for more than 2 hours to get our vehicle close enough to have a clear shot of her and her three subadults, resting along the water?s edge nearby. The offspring slept and stretched while she kept a keen lookout. Captured in April 2025.

I have never photographed horses before so I just went out them to see if I can find any wild horses so when I found them I had to walk for awhile to get some good shots, so I just sat there and watched them for awhile and all of a sudden they started running where I was sitting and I just started snapping away and this was my best shot that I took, just a side note I haven?t been doing photography long maybe about 6 months.

Gracie is one of our North American Black bears that we have rescued. A private owner kept her as a pet, illegally when she was a cub. She was confiscated by NDOW and was brought to us 19 years ago. Now, she is living her best life with all the love and care she could ask for. I took the photo while assisting with her care that day.

Title or Location: Wild Horses at sunset
I was at Washoe Lake State Park walking with about 40 wild horses for two hours. It was getting to the point the sun was going behind the foothills. As I watched them backlit I took a few final shots. I noticed this horse was flicking flies away with its tail. I took a few and liked the way the tail fanned out.

The sun was just beginning to come over the mountain range. The clouds were moving fast which created the streaks. Someone had made a ?teepee? out of logs. I felt this added more to the photo.

Title: "Spring Light"I took this photo on a spring afternoon, drawn by the contrast between the bright yellow dandelions and the dramatic, cloudy sky. The soft sunlight filtering through the leaves added warmth to an otherwise moody scene. It was a quiet moment that I wanted to preserve.Nikon Z5, 24mm, Enhancing colours ins post processing

I was on an island tour of Barbados, and we stopped for lunch at a house serving as a restaurant that had a scenic view. After our lunch we were given less than 15 minutes for looking around and to grab photos. I had seen the boulders and knew I had to have my tripod, so I went to our shuttle grabbed my backpack and tripod. I was going over potential shots in my head. I made it to a cleared area and started setting up my tripod and camera up knowing I didn't have much time. I decided I wanted to
