Come along to our photo sessions to dust off your camera and get snap-happy with a professional photography instructor.

Brush up on your camera skills and learn new photography techniques whilst on a photo walk class with other local keen photographers!

We run two hour photography sessions based on a photography theme/technique/style and they take place in various locations in Reno.

  • New to photography? We also run a popular 3 hour Beginners Guide to Photography Class once a month. And once in a while we will run special niche 3 hour classes, for example, Astrophotography - so do subscribe to our newsletter to know when the next on is!

  • Who can attend? Open to all skill levels, from beginners to keen amateurs. The photography instructor is there to help you with camera settings and provide any advice you need.

  • What to bring? We recommend bringing a camera that has full manual mode or semi-manual modes (Aperture or Shutter Priority). Compact cameras and smartphones also welcome!

The meeting point and full details for the day are sent in the booking confirmation email to the email address you provide at time of booking.

Join the Reno Photography Group on Facebook to share your photos after the session.

I live near the water. As I worked in my garden, this eagle landed near the water's edge. It stayed long enough for me to grab my good old Cannon Rebel and I was able to capture several images with my 200mm lens. The bird seemed to have no fear of me. I moved slowly peacefully towards it and I ended up about 25' away. I did not want to scare it, so I only captured a few images. When I had finished, the bird remained here for quite some time. It was an amazing experience. I did crop the image to

Title or Location: Reno NV. The northwest section of McCarran Blvd, up in the foothills.
I've driven by this spot on McCarran many times before but had never pulled over to take photos. It requires pulling over on a busy road with not a lot of room on the shoulder and then walking a bit back up the hill to then jump a shoulder barrier. This time when I was driving by it was golden hour at its finest. I instantly made the decision to stop (even tho I was working), grabbed my camera and tripod which are always at the ready and got in to place. By the time I set up I was chasing the la

Title or Location: Damonte Ranch Trail, Reno
Damonte Ranch Trail is a park located in south part or Reno, Nevada. It's a paved trail about 3.5 mile around a wetland full of birds, vegetation and fish. This park looks beautiful in day light but a few days ago I wanted to take some photos of this place during the golden hour. The original photo, with the sun setting behind the mountains, was interesting but with still blue sky, it was somewhat boring. I replaced the sky in Phototoshop and brighten the darker, shady area of the photo a littl

Shot this picture on my Canon EOS R, with my recently acquired Sigma 14mm f1.8 lens. It was captured at f/1.8, 1600ISO and 8 sec exposure.Having worked in Northern British Columbia and out of town for nearly 10 years, I became accustomed to the spectacular northern lights shows it had to offer! So I finally made the plunge in the last 6 months and got myself a real camera, and just last month picked up the new sigma lens. After getting off a 10 hour work day, I had a quick bite to eat fo
