Come along to our photo sessions to dust off your camera and get snap-happy with a professional photography instructor.

Brush up on your camera skills and learn new photography techniques whilst on a photo walk class with other local keen photographers!

We run two hour photography sessions based on a photography theme/technique/style and they take place in various locations in Reno.

  • New to photography? We also run a popular 3 hour Beginners Guide to Photography Class once a month. And once in a while we will run special niche 3 hour classes, for example, Astrophotography - so do subscribe to our newsletter to know when the next on is!

  • Who can attend? Open to all skill levels, from beginners to keen amateurs. The photography instructor is there to help you with camera settings and provide any advice you need.

  • What to bring? We recommend bringing a camera that has full manual mode or semi-manual modes (Aperture or Shutter Priority). Compact cameras and smartphones also welcome!

The meeting point and full details for the day are sent in the booking confirmation email to the email address you provide at time of booking.

Join the Reno Photography Group on Facebook to share your photos after the session.

Excellent event. Isaac is a great guide and I really enjoyed learning new perspectives and techniques from him. Two hours is the right length of time for this type of event.

Title or Location: Stormy California North Coast
I captured this image in Northern California. Dark clouds filled the sky while a few rays of sunlight broke through, creating a striking contrast of light and shadow across the landscape.Wanting to emphasize the mood of the scene, I photographed it at a shutter speed of 1/4 second. Without a tripod, I captured the long exposure handheld. Post-processing was completed using Luminar Neo to enhance the image and bring out the atmosphere I experienced that day.

Title or Location: Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco, CA
I captured this image on a foggy morning in mid-May 2026 from the Golden Gate Bridge Vista Point North in San Francisco. As the dense fog rolled through the bridge, portions of the iconic towers disappeared into the clouds, creating a dramatic and atmospheric scene. I knew it will be a memorable photograph. The image was captured with a Sony a7R IIIA paired with a Tamron 35-150mm lens.During post-processing, I removed several distracting elements, including yellow road signs, to create a clea

The pelicans were grooming and stretching. There is so much I love about this image. The lighting was perfect for the pelican to open its mouth wide and it be translucent. With the foreground pelican beak down causing the crest on its head to stand up. The eyes of a couple peeking while they are resting.

Title or Location: "Tree with a View" This was taken on the lower end of the Geiger Grade in Reno, NV.
This Ponderosa pine (Pinus ponderosa) I found is growing in a sparse location overlooking the Geiger Grade in Reno, NV., and is stunted in its growth as a result. But it has a spectacular view of the Eastern Sierra with Mt. Rose and Slide Mountain in the background.I entered this photo in The People's Artist competition and have successfully made it through three rounds of voting. Title or Location: Montague TX
I had been wanting to get a photo of the Montague TX windmills for some time after seeing others' photos over the year. On 6/11/26, our local photo club had ventured to the town of Nocona TX, and we were reminded of how close we were to the windmills, which are a private collection by a noted Nocona family, the Fenoglios. They are right on the highway just outside of downtown Montague for all to enjoy, and we were lucky enough to have some of those beautiful Texas summer skies on this afternoon.

I was over the moon from the start of shooting this shot to the final edit.It was my first time when I finally learned how to use a tracker after owning the tracker for one year. I was stunned after seeing those images. Never had a chance to shoot that long exposure, but found it was absolutely worth it.I was with my partner and friends at Pandanus on Litchfield, and definitely was thinking of shooting in a conventional style. So, I definitely wasn?t prepared. Also, the moon was going to
